In order to keep them in best condition, avoiding fragrance, soap, chemicals or cosmetics including hand creams. We recommend you to wear your jewelries after the cosmetics or fragrance are dried.
We also recommend you to avoid wearing jewelries while you are performing certain activities, such as sports, gardening, housework, etc. to prevent damage to jewelries or stones, or due to removal of stones.
STORAGE
Opal has a mohs hardness of 5-6.5, material with hardness over 6.5 may scratches the opal, like diamonds, ruby, sapphires or emerald. Thus, keep opals separately in a single bag after wearing.
Also, opal has a high water content, keep it away envrionment wit extreme light, heat or dryness.
WASH AND CLEAN
Daily wipe with clean dry cloth is always nice to keep opal in good condition.
To wash away the oil or dust stick on the opal, WARM soapy water is a safety way.
SPECIAL STONES CARING
Most of the stones we use in jewelries are natural, and natural stones have their special characteristics, therefore they may require special caring.
Natural Australian Opal shows its distinct play-of-colour, attributed to its combination of silicon dioxide. Every opal contains certain percentage of water, enhanced its rich color reflection. Avoiding scratching, chemical materials like perfume will keep their luster last longer. Use dry and soft cloth to clean after wearing is necessary to prevent the damage from sweat or dust.
